Op deze website staat de serie StreetLife. De serie bestaat uit op straat gemaakte foto’s. Ik begon met de serie in augustus 2010. Tot nu toe maakte ik foto’s in Arnhem, Amsterdam, Utrecht, Rotterdam, Den Haag, Den Bosch, Zutphen, Deventer, Tilburg, Eindhoven, Almere en Nijmegen.

“StreetLife, letterlijk vertaald het leven op straat, gaat over wat ik zie wanneer ik als fotograaf op straat loop. Dat kan bijzondere of gewone beelden opleveren, humoristisch of triest. Staatfotografie heeft een lange traditie en bestaat misschien wel net zolang als de fotografie zelf. In tegenstelling tot wat doorgaans tot de straatfotografie gerekend wordt meng ik verschillende stijlen van fotografie: straatfotografie, documentaire fotografie en reportage. Ik wil vastleggen hoe mensen handelen en in verbinding met elkaar zijn in de publieke ruimte en een tijdsbeeld schetsen van de tijd waarin we leven.”
“In 1995 maakte ik een serie zwart/wit portretten op straat met de multiculturele samenleving als uitgangspunt. De serie exposeerde ik op verschillende locaties, stond in januari 1997 in het blad FOTO en is te zien op de online foto expositie www.conditionhumaine.nl.”

This website contains the StreetLife series. The series consists of photos taken on the street in Dutch cities. I started in august 2010. So far I made photographs in Arnhem, Amsterdam, Utrecht, Rotterdam, The Hague, Den Bosch, Zutphen, Deventer, Tilburg, Eindhoven, Almere and Nijmegen.

“StreetLife, life on the street, is about what I see when I walk down the streets as a photographer. I try to make special or ordinary images, humorous or sad. Street photography has a long tradition, perhaps as long as photography exists. Contrary to what usually is considered to be Street Photography I mix different styles of photography: street photography, documentary and reportage. I want to capture how people act and interact with one another in the public space and make a time image of the times we live in.”
“In 1995 I made a series of black and white portraits on the streets with the multicultural society in mind. This series was exhibited on different location, was published in January 1997 in FOTO Magazine and can be seen on the online photo exhibition www.conditionhumaine.nl.”
In preparation the book StreetLife.
